Job Description

AmeriCold Logistics, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking a Warehouse Laborer to join the team at our Grand Island, NE facility.

Primary Responsibility: Receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment and products.

Essential Functions:

1. Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
2. Re-stack product weighing up to 50 lbs.
3. Utilize manual palletizer and/or other power equipment to regroup product for shipment or storage. Ensure that product is free from damage.
4. Assist forklift operators and truck drivers with orders. Retrieve orders from computer and confirm information with office staff if necessary.
5. Maintain clean and safe working area. Wipe down warehouse, railcars, trailers or truck bay. Sweep work area. Remove trash and debris. Keep company grounds free of litter.
6. Assist with projects, product maintenance and storage in the freezer environment.
7. Mark product with identifying information Inventory product as needed.
8. Label, sort, wrap, tie and pack product when necessary.
9. Other duties as requested.

Experience and Skills

Qualificationa and Requirements:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Familiar with WMS and RF
* Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to communicate with supervisors and other associates
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is frequently required to sit; hear or talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects; and type and manipulate controls. Associate is occasionally required to use distance vision, stand, kneel or crouch and lift up to 80 lbs. To apply: only qualified and local candidates with related experience will be considered.
